Heptaldehyde is colorless, oily liquid with a
penetrating fruity odor. The melting point is
?43 °C(lit.) and the boiling point is 153 °
C(lit.). It is insoluble in water ,hygroscopic
and flammable. It is stable,may be light
sensitive, incompatible with strong oxidizing
agents, strong bases, strong reducing
agents.It is irritant too. It can be used for
fragrances.This product should be kept away
from flammable area.
